Wikipedia Reveals The Five Most Popular Articles In 2025, There Are Charlie Kirk And Donald Trump

JAKARTA Everyone in the world spends about 2.4 billion hours reading English articles throughout 2025 on Wikipedia. This was revealed by the Wikimedia Foundation.

From the data shared, it can be seen that Wikipedia visitors are interested in various global issues, ranging from politics, popular culture, and much more. Wikimedia revealed the five most widely read articles on Wikipedia.

The first article with the highest number of lawyers was Charlie Kirk, a political activist, businessman and figure in the US who was killed in September 2025. The day after his death, articles about Kirk were read nearly 15 million times by users.

This amount is equivalent to an average of more than 170 times per second during that period. Throughout 2025, about 43 percent of the total readers of Charlie Kirk's articles came from outside the US. Kirk's article tops the list with a total of 44,907,789 page views.

In second place is the Death article in 2025 which recorded 42,508,846 views. This article has always been in high rankings and this year ranks third. Death Articles in 2025 are updated periodically by volunteer editors.

One of the most important deaths of interest is the death of Pope Francis in April 2025. After Francis died, the Catholic Church elected Pope Leo XIV as his successor a few weeks later.

The article about Pope Leo XIV ranks fifth at 22,052,502 views. Meanwhile, the article about Pope Francis was ranked 11th most widely read that year.

The top five list also includes Ed Gein in third place with 31,232,285 views and US President Donald Trump in fourth place with 25,127,616 views. For Trump, the article was widely read because he managed to become president for the second time.
