Husband Who Stepped On And Confused His Wife Because He Was Drunk In Bengkayang Was Arrested By The Police

The Bengkayang Police, West Kalimantan Police, arrested a man with the initials Dayu (43) on suspicion of domestic violence (KDRT) against his wife, Jaya (42), after the victim reported to the police.

The Sergap Sergap Team of the Bengkayang Police Satreskrim was arrested on Sunday, December 7, in Sebujit Iyang Hamlet, Hli Buei Village, Siding District.

Jaya revealed that violence occurred on Wednesday, December 3, at around 00.00 WIB when the perpetrator returned home drunk.

"My husband opened the door and immediately stepped on me who was sleeping in the living room. His leg hit my left chest, but I could only stand still," Jaya said in Bengkayang, Antara, Monday, December 8.

He said the perpetrator then strangled the victim's neck, kicked the ribs, and pressed his nose with a flashlight.

"He told me to wake up and calculate money using a calculator on the cellphone," he said.

The victim admitted that he did not wake up because he did not understand how to use a cell phone, thus making the perpetrator even more angry and throwing the cellphone.

"My husband said, 'If you don't wake me up, kill you,' then walk back to take a machete. I immediately ran out of the house and looked for protection to a neighbor's house,' he said.

The next day, Jaya looked for help by visiting the head of the RT and hamlet equipment, but did not get a finish. He then fled and spent the night in the residents' corn plantations to avoid the perpetrators.

Bengkayang Police Chief AKBP Syahirul Awab through the Head of Criminal Investigation AKP Anuar Syarifudin said the arrest of the perpetrator was carried out shortly after the report was received.

"The perpetrator was arrested on Sunday night while at a resident's house while consuming alcohol. We immediately took the person concerned to the Bengkayang Police for examination," said Anuar.

He emphasized that the legal process would run according to the provisions and ensure that the victim received protection.

The victims and perpetrators are residents of Sebujit Iyang Hamlet, RT 001/RW 001, Hli Buei Village, Siding District, Bengkayang Regency. The police are now continuing their investigation into the case.
