Check The Leaking New Muara Embankment, Pramono Will Coordinate With The Central Government For Repairs

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung directly checked the condition of the coastal safety embankment in Muara Baru, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. This embankment was viral on social media because it leaked when the sea water was high some time ago.

Since the beginning of the leak on Thursday, December 4, officers from the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service have carried out temporary countermeasures, namely by paving the gap in the leaking embankment with sandbags.

Currently, further repairs are starting to run by carrying out a grouting process or filling the gap or cracks in the concrete structure with a mixture of special ingredients.

Pramono admitted that the embankment leak did not only occur in Muara Baru, but also 5 other points along the coastal area of Jakarta. Therefore, Pramono said he would coordinate with the central government so that the embankment repairs would be carried out more optimally.

"Muara Angke, Muara Baru, Sunda Kelapa, Green Bay Pluit, RE Martadinata, Ancol, and Cilincing Marunda, I ask that this be coordinated and tomorrow there will be a meeting with the Ministry of Public Works, KKP, Pelindo, and the Water Resources Service. The point is that coordination needs to be carried out in the field," said Pramono at the Muara Baru embankment, North Jakarta, Monday, December 8.

Pramono explained, in the construction of the embankment, both the coastal safety embankment and Giant Sea Wall on the coast of Jakarta, there was a division of tasks for development. Starting from the DKI Provincial Government, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, to PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo).

Therefore, Pramono assessed that coordination in mitigating the embankment structure needs to be carried out across sectors.

"How come something like this is like being divided, which is an agreement that was carried out at that time. But whatever I have ordered the SDA, the main person in charge is of course the DKI Jakarta Government because whatever the DKI Jakarta Government must be present for that," Pramono explained.

Like the case in the Muara Baru embankment which had gone viral, Pramono revealed that the person in charge was Pelindo. However, Pramono wants the DKI Provincial Government to help make improvements.

"So for the Pelindo area, we will ask Muara Baru to immediately coordinate working together with water resources. Things related to Ancol, public work, KKP, hopefully, can be done together. For the prevention of events that occurred in Jakarta like yesterday, hopefully it will be better," he added.
