2.525 Runners Join Industropolis Run 2025, Prove Concern For Sumatra

JAKARTA - As a series of celebrations for the 5th Anniversary (HUT) which coincided on December 11, the Special Economic Zone (KEK) of Batang Industropolis, a member of the BUMN Holding Danareksa, successfully organized the Industropolis Run 2025 on Sunday, December 7. This biggest annual sporting event also strengthens the humanitarian commitment of the Batang SEZ by opening donations to brothers affected by the disaster in Sumatra.

SEZ Industropolis Batang specifically makes this daily run a bridge of concern. All funds collected from special registration and donation posts during the event will be allocated to buy shoes, bags, books, uniforms, and other necessities. Industropolis Run 2025 is organized through strategic collaboration with Bank Indonesia, and other strategic companies.

Industropolis Run offers a route that has been certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races). The Industropolis Run 2025 provides a unique experience because SEZ Industropolis Batang is surrounded by rich natural scenery, ranging from the landscape of mountains, green plantations, lake beauty, to the coast of the Java Sea, allowing participants to exercise while enjoying a stunning natural panorama.

Industropolis Run 2025 successfully offers a variety of running categories. The 5K (Fun Run) category was attended by 1,546 participants, who focused on togetherness and health. Meanwhile, the 10K competitive category attracted 629 runners, and the Half Marathon long-distance category followed by 350 runners, bringing the total participants to 2,525 people.

In addition to physical challenges, Central Java's cultural wealth and the spirit of school children cheering along the way provide an unforgettable additional boost and energy.

The focus of SEZ Industropolis Batang on sport tourism is a strategic step to take advantage of the status as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). SEZ Industropolis Batang provides optimal incentives and infrastructure to attract world-class sporting events, accelerate investment, and encourage tourism growth.

"The difference between Industropolis Run and last year was the first of the number, last year only 2,000 participants, while this year 2,525. Then, last year only 5K and 10K, this time there is a half marathon, it is hoped that next year it can be full marathon. Don't forget we care about the situation in Sumatra first. We are grateful, runners make donations, we collect in the form of clothes, shoes and money that we will later submit at the end of this event. Then, my task is to implement SEZ Industropolis Batang to realize its 3rd function, namely the tourism SEZ, this run is sports tourism Sport Tourism," said the President Director of KEK Industropolis Batang, Ngurah Wirawan.

M. Faiz Kurniawan, Regent of Batang Regency, in the interview session hopes that Induststropolis Run can become the second largest marathon event in Central Java in the future, so that more Batang people are involved.

"We really appreciate the Industropolis Run this year because we still care about our brothers and sisters in Sumatra. I hope when Industropolis Run 2026 already has a hotel here," he explained.

Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Tegal Representative, Bimala, said BI's involvement in this event was part of the Regional Economic Growth Acceleration Team. BI's presence is expected to strengthen the image of KEK Industrialopolis Batang as a national investment center and be able to attract more investment in the future.

"In supporting donations for brothers and sisters in Sumatra, BI also facilitates the socialization process and payment of donations using QRIS to make it easier and faster," he said.

The success of the Industropolis Run 2025 proves that SEZ Industropolis Batang is an economically advanced area that is at the same time responsible and cares about humanitarian issues and education in Indonesia. In addition, accurate time recording can be used as a condition for participating in other major competitions at the global level.
