First Aid Reaches A Number Of Isolated Areas In Aceh
JAKARTA - Flash floods and landslides that hit various areas in Aceh have resulted in a number of areas experiencing total isolation for more than a week.
Land access that was cut off, severe damage to bridges, and the paralysis of logistics routes made the distribution of humanitarian aid a very difficult job to reach people who were victims of disasters.
The difficult situation felt by various parties continues, even until the tenth day after the disaster.
In the midst of the access paralysis, one of Bakrie Group's humanitarian programs managed to become the first to penetrate the location and distribute essential assistance to thousands of residents who have not received a helping hand.
This logistical distribution effort is a collaboration that has the support of two groups, the Bakrie Foundation for the Country and the LAZNAS Bakrie Amanah.
The aid departed from Jakarta on Tuesday, December 2, through a combination of land and air travel which was full of challenges.
After taking an extreme route for two full days, the team finally managed to arrive in the affected area to make them one of the parties who managed to enter a completely isolated area.
The first point of distribution is in Aceh Tamiang, with an estimated 2,000 beneficiaries.
A total of 700 food packages and emergency equipment were successfully distributed after limited access roads in the area were opened.
Distribution continues to the second point in Central Aceh. In this area, the assistance was received directly by the Regent of Central Aceh, Haili Yoga.
In addition to basic assistance such as basic necessities and other urgent needs, the team also handed over sophisticated communication devices (Starlink), power stations, and solar panels. These tools are very important to restore access to communication that is completely cut off.
In Central Aceh, the distribution of logistical assistance is carried out by using helicopters to the three main affected villages, namely Lumut, Iseise, and Owaq, as well as other surrounding villages.
Regent Haili Yoga expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts and dedication of the team that managed to penetrate his territory. This appreciation was conveyed during a video call with Rama Anugrah, the Daily Chair of Bakrie for the Country.
"It's been the tenth day that our location has not been touched. Even by land, it can't be caused by landslides, the roads and bridges are damaged. (The Bakrie Group humanitarian program) is a special guest, our community really needs it. We are touched," said Regent Haili Yoga.
The success of the humanitarian program to penetrate this isolated area also strengthens the commitment of business groups as one of the first responders in disaster management.
