Not Islah, Kubu Rais Aam And Tanfidziyah Must Resign From PBNU

JAKARTA - The caretaker of the Salafi Nahdlatul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Tangerang, Banten, Kiai Imaduddin Utsman al-Bantani considers that the discourse islah is not a solution to overcome internal conflicts within the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) which is getting worse.

According to him, the only way to overcome the polemic at PBNU is to eliminate the source of the problem.

These two camps, Rais Aam, Ketum, Secretary General must resign. If we want to save NU, we want to return to seeing NU's authority, of course, that is the problem that must be eliminated," he said in a written statement, Sunday, December 7.

Kiai Imaduddin emphasized that the internal situation of PBNU could not return to its original state even though it happened.

The reason is, in islah's efforts there must be a 'win-win solution', where one party gets what and what the other gets.

This is what the parties who propose islah do not pay attention to.

"If it is the one who proposes islah, let it pass, without any correction how the error must be dealt with," he added.

He stated, after the two warring camps withdrew, a congress was held as soon as possible to choose a new management by being filled by young NU figures who were relatively fresh and not involved in the vortex of the PBNU elite conflict.

"It's better for the Kasepuhans who become Rais Aam, General Chair, Secretary General, Bendum, and Katib Aam, just back off. Bismillah, later the congress in the future let the young people in NU in the villages become PBNU coaches, so that there is a 'fresh blood' that will restore, refresh and bring NU to be better than the current one," he explained.

Kiai Imaduddin menilai, dalam kondisi PBNU yang karut marut seperti sekarang maka justru akan menguntungkan musuh-musuh NU.

Sebab, NU adalah salah satu organisasi terpenting yang sangat concern dalam menjaga keutuhan bangsa dan negara.

“Kalau NU sekarang dalam masalah, saya khawatir musuh-musuh NU, akan masuk mengambil kesempatan, kemudian bisa membuat sesuatu yang tidak baik kepada bangsa, kepada NU secara khusus,” tutupnya.

Kiai Imaduddin assessed that in the condition of PBNU which is chaotic like now, it will actually benefit NU's enemies.

Because NU is one of the most important organizations that is very concerned in maintaining the integrity of the nation and state.

"If NU is now in trouble, I'm afraid NU's enemies will take the opportunity, then they can make something bad for the nation, to NU in particular," he concluded.
