White House Finally Removes Videos Using Sabrina Carpenter Song
JAKARTA - The White House has quietly removed a video containing music from US pop singer Sabrina Carpenter, after drawing criticism from the pop star.
Previously, promotional videos were uploaded by the official White House account earlier this week, where content was aimed at promoting law enforcement by the Immigration and Enforcement of US Customs or US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The problem is that the video uses the song Sabrina Carpenter, 'Juno', which is known to be unlicensed.
The song 'Juno' itself is known for its lyrics that contain sensual elements. However, in the context of the video, the song was carried on top of a police officer who handcuffed, chased, and detained people who had problems with immigration and would be deported.
Knowing that the song was misused, Carpenter immediately sent a sharp condemnation to the Trump administration.
He called the video something 'crime and disgusting'.
"Never involve me or my music to support your inhumanity agenda," Carpeter wrote, citing NME, Sunday, December 7.
The Carpenter criticism immediately received a reply. White House spokesman, Abigail Jackson, who issued a statement to attack back.
"This is a short and sweet message to Sabrina Carpenter: We will not apologize for deporting the killer, rapist, and illegal criminal offender of our country," Jackson said. Anyone who defends this sick monster must be stupid, or is he slow?
However, just a few days later, the video has been quietly removed from the entire White House social media platform without an official explanation of the reasons for removing the content.
Sabrina Carpenter adds to the long list of musicians who openly oppose what ICE is doing under Trump's administration.
Previously, Olivia Rodrigo had also attended anti-ICE protests. He stated that he was very annoyed with the cruel deportation of his neighbors.
