Firefighters Deploy 15 Units To Put Out Ship Fires In Muara Baru

JAKARTA - A fishing boat docked at Muara Baru Port, East Pier, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, caught fire on Saturday, December 6, 2025 afternoon. A total of 15 firefighters and 80 personnel were deployed to deal with the fire.

Head of Operations for North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said that the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) received a report of the incident at 17.25 WIB from security officers who visited the Muara Baru Post.

Following up on the report, said Gatot, his party immediately deployed a fleet from the Muara Baru Post as the first unit to the scene.

"As soon as the report was received, the unit immediately launched and arrived at the location at around 17.35 WIB. The object that caught fire was a fishing boat," said Gatot in a written statement, Saturday, December 6.

He said 15 firefighters and 80 personnel were deployed to deal with the fire. The effort to extinguish the fire began at 17.36 WIB.
