Extreme Weather Threatens Babel, BMKG Urges Residents To Beware Of Floods And Lightning

PANGKALPINANG - Moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds is predicted to hit the areas of Bangka and West Bangka Regencies. BMKG Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Islands Province has now issued an early warning to anticipate hydrometeolrological disasters in the area.

"We urge the public to be aware of today's weather conditions that have the potential for flooding, lightning strikes, fallen trees and others," said Head of BMKG Pangkalpinang Tri Agus Pramono in Pangkalpinang, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 6.

He said early weather warnings in the Babel Islands region on Saturday had the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning, lightning and strong winds in Bangka Regency spread across Sungailiat, Belinyu, Mendo Barat, Bakam, Riau Silip.

Moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds have the potential to occur in West Bangka Regency spread across Mentok, Simpang Teritip, Hebus, Tempilang, Parittiga and surrounding areas.

This weather condition can spread to the Belitung Regency in Tanjung Pandan, Nasik Strait, Sijuk, and Badau, South Bangka Regency in Toboali, Lepar Pongok. Central Bangka Regency in Koba, Pangkalan Baru, Selan River, Simpang Katis, Namang, Lubuk Besar.

West Bangka Regency in Jebus, Kelapa, Parit Tiga. East Belitung Manggar, Kelapa Kampit, Damar, Simpang Renggiang and Pangkalpinang City in Bukit Intan, Taman Sari, Pangkalbalam, Rangkui, Gerunggang, Gabek, Girimaya and its surroundings.
