JAKARTA - US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz will visit Jordan and Israel on December 6-10 to discuss a peace plan in the Gaza Strip initiated by US President Donald Trump, according to a statement on Friday (5/12).

The visit is said to be part of a US commitment to advancing regional stability, implementing President Trump's 20 Points Plan for Gaza, and supporting the United Nations Security Council (DK)'s 2803 Resolution goal, which sets future directions for the Palestinian enclave, according to a spokesman for US representatives at the United Nations.

"While in Jordan, Ambassador Waltz will meet senior Jordanian officials, including King Abdullah II and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, to discuss bilateral cooperation and Jordan's important role in facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza," the statement said.

Waltz will also meet a number of humanitarian organizations "to assess ongoing efforts in providing life-saving assistance to those in need."

He will also meet with Israeli leaders to advance US-Israel cooperation at the United Nations and discuss joint priorities regarding regional security and humanitarian aid.

The Waltz agenda in Israel also includes briefing on the implementation of Resolution 2803 as well as visits to Karem Shallom and Coordination and Monitoring Mechanisms for Gaza.

The 2803 resolution stipulates the formation of the Peace Council, International Stabilization Forces (ISF), and administrative committees in the Gaza Strip.

"This visit reflects President Trump's firm commitment to end a prolonged conflict and guarantees a peaceful and prosperous future for the Middle East," the statement said.
