Elderly, Scavengers And Street Children Will Get MBG

Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for Public Investigation and Communication Nanik Sudaryati Deyang said that the elderly, scavengers, street children, and all poor people in the category will accept Free Nutrition Food (MBG) according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

Nanik explained that the policy has been contained in Presidential Regulation number 115 of 2025, which states that MBG beneficiaries are increasingly being expanded.

When the MBG program is designed, Pak Prabowo wants all students to be able to eat nutritious food so that it grows and develops well. Don't let Indonesian children can't eat. He even wants all the poor, disabled, the elderly, children drop out of school, street children, scavengers, all of them to be recipients of MBG," said Nanik as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 5.

Not only that, MBG recipients will also be extended to educators, including public school teachers, honorary staff, private teachers, ustadz or pesantren teachers, as well as students in salaf pesantren who are not affiliated with the Ministry of Religion.

"PKK cadres and posyandu are also beneficiaries of MBG benefits," he said.

Previously, the Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana also stated that his party was building 8,200 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in remote areas to meet MBG needs so that distribution is more equitable.

"Now it has been identified that there are 8,200 SPPGs in remote areas that will be built, and those in the process are 4,700 units, while those that will be completed in December 2025 are approximately 170 units. The number of MBG beneficiaries in remote areas is no more than 3 million people throughout Indonesia," he said.

He said, for December 2025, 20 thousand SPPGs will only be formed in agglomeration areas, plus 170 units in remote areas.

"But in the next two months, around January-February 2026, most likely all SPPGs have been formed, so that in March or April 2026, as many as 82.9 million people have been achieved," he said.

President Prabowo Subianto at the end of November 2025 also stated that MBG had succeeded in producing more than 2 billion servings of food.

This amount is much larger than the total realization which was originally projected at 1.8 billion servings.

"Every day we receive food, we have produced 2 billion foods and have conveyed them to the beneficiaries. I think this is a fairly proud achievement," said Prabowo.
