Bahlil Will Check Illegal Mining Near Komodo Island
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia admitted that he would check illegal gold mines on Sebayur Besar Island, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Previously, the findings related to the mine near Komodo Island were revealed by the Corruption Eradication (KPK) which stated that there was illegal mining activity on Sebayur Island.
"I'll check it later, yes. Yes," said Bahlil to the beginning of the media, quoted Friday, December 5.
Meanwhile, the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTT) ensured that there was no illegal gold mining activity on Sebayur Island, which was included in the Komodo National Park (TN) area, West Manggarai Regency.
The Head of Public Relations of the East Nusa Tenggara Police, Kombes Pol Henry Novika Chandra, said that the NTT Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Darmoko emphasized that Sebayur Island had long been free from illegal mining activities.

Police officers, said the Head of Public Relations, have carried out field checks, and it has been confirmed that illegal mining activities or heavy equipment have not been found in locations known as gold mining locations.
