Minister Of Transportation Dudy Regarding Airplane Tickets To Aceh Soared Sharply: It's Charter

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi opened his voice regarding the sharp jump in aircraft fares to Aceh amid the increasing demand for transportation due to natural disasters in the region.

Dudy said, the increase in ticket prices did not occur on regular flights but charter planes. He said the Ministry of Transportation was not authorized to regulate ticket prices for charter planes.

In addition, Dudy said charter aircraft have different fare calculations from regular flights. He said, charters are relatively more expensive.

"So if charters are a little different. Because if they count the charter, it's not like regular, the charter calculates going home and leaving, so if it is given to the tenant, the fall will be more expensive," he said at a media briefing, in Jakarta, Friday, December 5.

Meanwhile, Director General of Civil Aviation Lukman F Laisa said the government only regulates two types of flight services, namely pioneer flights and regular flights.

Lukman said, the pioneer flight rate is set by the Ministry of Transportation. Meanwhile, regular flight rates are limited by threshold or TBA tariffs.

Furthermore, Lukman said that the tariff for charter aircraft cannot be monitored by the government. Because, there is no regulation that regulates this matter.

"So at certain times there are those who use charters and tickets that we cannot monitor because there are no rules. This is directly on the charter of one plane with one trip," said Lukman.

For your information, the price of plane tickets at Rembele Airport, Bener Meriah, soared amidst the increasing demand for transportation due to natural disasters that occurred in the Aceh region.
