Keep Year-End Tax Revenue, DGT Bans Employee Leave In December 2025
The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance officially issued an official memorandum that stipulates a ban on applying for annual leave for all employees during December 2025.
The policy was issued to maintain service stability and ensure optimal security of tax revenues ahead of the close of the fiscal year.
This rule is stated in the Service Memorandum Number ND-338/PJ/PJ.01/2025 addressed to all unit leaders, ranging from the Secretary of the Directorate General of Taxes, directors, regional heads, to the leadership of technical implementing units.
In the memorandum, the leaders were asked not to give approval for annual leave in December, except for two conditions, namely the need for religious holidays or urgent reasons that cannot be postponed and in accordance with applicable regulations.
"In order to secure the 2025 tax revenue target, all unit leaders within the DGT are asked not to apply for annual leave in December 2025, unless the annual leave application is intended for the benefit of religious holidays or because of urgent, unavoidable interests whose submissions are in accordance with applicable regulations," reads the Service Note, quoted Friday, December 5.
In addition, DGT also asks all employees to comply with these provisions, maintain smooth service to taxpayers, and continue to prioritize tax revenue security measures towards the end of the year.
Responding to the issuance of the official memorandum, Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations of DJP Rosmauli, said that regulating human resources towards the end of the year is a routine step to ensure that public services and security of state revenues remain optimal.
According to him, regulating the leave schedule is an internal policy that is administrative in nature and is commonly carried out in various government agencies, especially during the crucial year-end period.
"The DGT principle is to keep services running without disturbing employees' rights, especially regarding religious holidays. Our current focus is to ensure that state revenues and services are maintained properly," he said in his statement, Friday, December 5.
