SEA Games 2025 Gold Medal Winners Will Get A Bonus Of IDR 1 Billion
JAKARTA The gold medalist at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand was promised a bonus of IDR 1 billion by President Prabowo Subianto, a significant increase from the previous edition of gold winner in Cambodia in 2023.
Prabowo confirmed the big bonus when he officially released the Indonesian contingent for the biennial multi-pronged sporting event at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Friday, December 5, 2025, evening WIB.
"We will encourage, brothers and sisters, Menpora how? We will give the gold medal an incentive for the budget of Rp. 500 million, it can be increased to Rp. 1 billion? Yes? Can you? Can the Minister of State Secretary?" Alhamdulillah, "said Prabowo.

Prabowo also asked all athletes competing in Thailand not only because of the big bonuses to be received, but to fight for the dignity of the nation.
"I'm sure you compete not solely for money. So, this is not all judged by material, but you must believe that our nation is a great nation, our nation understands the services of its heroes," he said.
Previously, the 2023 SEA Games gold medalists received a bonus of IDR 524 million for individual numbers. At that time the Red-White Contingent managed to bring home 87 gold medals from this biennial event.
In this year's edition, Indonesia fielded 1,021 male and female athletes to compete in 49 of the 51 sports competed in the largest multi-sport event in Southeast Asia.
This number has increased from the previous 996 athletes from 48 sports. The addition of 25 athletes to the contingent because the implementation decided to add numbers in athletics, fencing, and bicycle racing sports.
Indonesia has set a target to get 80 gold medals in the White Elephant Country to lock up the third position in the final standings of medals in order to repeat the previous edition in Cambodia in 2023.
The 2025 SEA Games will officially open on December 9. Some Indonesian contingents are currently in Thailand because some sports first compete like football.
