Caught On Camera, The Latest Generation Comes More Characterful And Tough
Hyundai is preparing a new generation assassination model caught on camera while conducting road tests in California, and marking the first appearance of the XRT variant of the upcoming model in the United States.
Citing from the Korean Car Blog page, Friday, December 5, it can be seen that the model is still shrouded in full camouflage, but this prototype already provides an idea that Hyundai is preparing for a major change in one of its most popular compact SUVs.
The current generation is known for its futuristic design and firm angle, but the 2027 version looks like it will look stronger and more cornered. Spy photos show a boxier silhouette, a more assertive line of characters.
This design direction is in line with Hyundai's move which further emphasizes the identity of a tough SUV, as can be seen from the latest design philosophy and the development of the XRT trim.
The XRT badge itself is an adventure-oriented variant, presents a more aggressive display and an impression of being ready to explore. In today's Hyundai models, XRT packages generally include dark exterior details, thicker body shields, unique wheel designs, to off-road accents that emphasize their tough character.

With a similar approach, new generation XRT is projected to be a strong competitor to light offroad-style SUVs such as Toyota RAV4 Woodland Edition, Ford Escape Active, to the ranks of Subaru Wilderness.
Hyundai is also expected to further boost electrification in next-generation SUVs, includingrik. The new model is likely to come with a choice of hybrid engines on most trims, as well as PHEV.
In addition, Hyundai no longer provides global diesel engine options, in line with the company's focus on fuel efficiency and emission reduction.
The XRT variant itself is predicted to maintain a similar choice of hybrid powertrain or PHEV, but with a touch of off-road vehicle-style design without significant mechanical changes.
