Assessment Of The Number Of Houses Affected By Malang City Floods, BPBD: Some Are Collapsed
The Malang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has confirmed that it has conducted an assessment of the impact of damage to houses due to floods that hit a number of points in the area.
"The evacuation of residents to a safe place, then data collection on damage is carried out," said Malang City BPBD Chief Executive Prayitno on the sidelines of a review of flood-affected locations in Purwodadi Village, Malang City, East Java, Friday, confiscated by Antara.
Based on data from the Malang City BPBD, there were six units of residents' houses that were damaged and 90 houses were flooded.
A total of 90 houses were flooded, 41 of which were in Purwodadi Village, Blimbing District, Malang City.
Of that number, 38 houses were submerged in mud material that was carried away by the flood. Then, several houses were also flooded in three locations, namely Jalan Candi Bajang, Jalan Letjen S Parman Gang 1, and Jalan Taman Siswa.
Then, in Lowokwaru District, a total of about 36 houses were flooded, namely approximately eight houses in RT 01 / RW 05 Lowokwaru Village, nine houses in RT 05 / RW 11 Lowokwaru Village, 16 houses on Jalan Kedawung RT 02 / RW 05, and three houses in Mojolangu Village RT 01 / RW 01.
Then, the flood in Lowokwaru District also caused five two-wheeled vehicles belonging to residents to be swept away by the current.

Specifically for flooding on Jalan Kedawung, he stated that at least one family had been trapped in the house, but the officers had been successfully evacuated.
"Indeed, yesterday the overflow was high, the dominant inundated the road but was badly affected by a house that sank 160 centimeters and the house collapsed was empty," he said.
Prayitno explained that the results of the assessment were used as a reference material to distribute aid packages to flood-affected communities.
He said that the fulfillment of assistance to affected residents was not only carried out by BPBD but was coordinated with a number of agencies, such as the Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning (Dinsos-P3AP2KB), the Welfare Section, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), and the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) Malang City.
"So something collapsed and as kitchen utensils went missing. But I asked the team to do an assessment again to record the needs including family kits, clothes and kitchen utensils, how many houses," he said.
