Short Escape Phenomenon, Short Holiday Trend But Memorized To Be A Choice During Nataru Holiday
JAKARTA - Among young people, the trend of short escapes or short holidays during the momentum of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays is getting more and more popular. Not a few tourists now choose short trips from one to two nights as a form of a short break from routines without having to take long leave.
This phenomenon can also be seen from the holiday habits of the urban generation which prioritize flexibility, experience, and easy-to-reach destinations.
According to data from the Ministry of Tourism as of August 2025, the average length of stay for domestic tourists in five-star hotels is at 1.67 pm. This figure strengthens the trend that people are now more inclined to short vacation types but still memorable.
Seeing this change in preference, the Tanjung Lesung tourist area in Banten responded by presenting various year-end holiday packages specifically designed for people who want a short but still full experience.
President Director of Tanjung Lesung, Poernomo Siswoprasetijo, said that this year's Nataru holiday package was prepared to meet the needs of various segments of tourists, from families to individual travelers.
"Especially for this Christmas and New Year's holidays, we offer special room packages that not only include accommodation, including breakfast and dinner, but also various series of entertainment and exciting activities," Poernomo said in a written statement to VOI.
Various marine-based activities are also provided, ranging from banana boats, sliders boats, sea kayaks, snorkeling, to bottom boat glass. Tourists can also enjoy public facilities such as swimming pools, restaurants, open space areas, and bars.

On New Year's Eve, tourists can enjoy various shows such as The Battle of Ladas Cultural Show, rampak bedug, fire dance performances, fireworks parties, and music entertainment.
Poernomo added that tourists also get free access to various regional facilities such as golf centers, Mongolian Culture Centers, as well as leading beaches in the area such as Ladda Beach, Lalassa Beach, and Bodur Beach.
