North Sumatra Police K-9 Team Intensify The Search For Victims In Batang Toru Tapsel

The North Sumatra Regional Police Unit Team of the K-9 Directorate of Samapta Regional Police (Polda) intensified the search for victims of natural disasters in Huta Godang Village, South Tapanuli Regency.

"The K-9 Dit Samapta Unit team together with the Directorate of Police Baharkam Polri continue to move by searching for victims in areas affected by flash floods," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Walintukan, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 5.

Ferry said the team was not only focused on the search process, but also put forward the humanitarian aspect for the families of the victims.

Each victim found will be immediately evacuated and processed by the identification team so that the family can receive clarity and certainty.

Ferry said the team carrying four K-9 specialists in the search for disaster victims found one female victim buried in flash flood material in Huta Godang Village, Batang Toru District, South Tapanuli Regency, Thursday (4/12).

"The findings emphasize the seriousness of the Police in dealing with the impact of disasters that hit the South Tapanuli region and its surroundings," he said.

According to him, the operation also involved close cooperation with Basarnas and elements of the local government.

"Personnel in the field are supported by SAR standard equipment, including area monitoring drones and animal care facilities. Everything is done to ensure the search is efficient and safe," he said.

Previously, the DVI Team identified as many as 290 victims of floods and landslides throughout North Sumatra.
