Realization Of JETP Funding Reaches 3.1 Billion US Dollars In Indonesia

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the realization of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) funding that had been distributed to various green projects in Indonesia reached US$3.1 billion.

Airlangga explained that when it was first introduced to Indonesia's G20 Presidency in 2022, JETP targeted 20 billion US dollars in fundraising. However, this commitment increased to 21.4 billion US dollars, consisting of 11.4 billion US dollars each from IPG and 10 billion US dollars from GFANZ.

"Dana yang dari 20 miliar dolar AS yang sudah digobilisasi adalah 3,1 miliar dolar AS dengan skema JETP dan 5,5 miliar dolar AS lagi sedang dalam proses negosiasi untuk proyek-proyek konkret," ungkapnya saat konferensi pers, Jumat, 5 Desember.

He added that Britain and Ireland also described two studies of Just Framework containing implementative measures to strengthen economic resilience and inclusiveness in Indonesia's energy transition process.

Airlangga also expressed his appreciation to the Japanese Government for its contribution through the JETP Secretariat, as well as to all IPG donors who play a role in the preparation of the JETP Progress Report 2025 which is now entering the finalization stage.

According to him, the report will form the basis for strengthening the phase of implementation of future energy transition projects and programs, which will be carried out under the coordination of the German and Japanese Governments through the JETP Delivery Unit (JDU).

Furthermore, Airlangga detailed several projects that have obtained JETP funding commitments, such as the Green Energy Corridor Sulawesi (GECS), the dedieselization program, the Waste to Energy project which is integrated with the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC), and the development of rooftop solar power plants.

"Then the process plan for the procurement of renewable energy or tender, because we already have our own PLN RUPTL including 70 GW until 2034," he explained.

In addition, several new renewable energy projects (EBT) that are included in the JETP funding priority list include the floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS) Saguling, the Muara Laboh Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP), the Legok Nangka Waste Power Plant (PLTSa), and the Bayu Power Plant (PLTB) in South Sumatra.

"Of course we hope that in 20 billion US dollars we can be absorbed into the concrete program that will exist later, and all of that has actually been on the pipeline, and documentation has also been prepared, and there is also an involvement from banks, GFANZ, KFW, and ADB," he said.
