World Cup 2026 Draw Held Tonight

The 2026 World Cup group draw will be held at John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC, United States, on Friday, December 5, 2025, local time or Saturday, December 6, 2025, early morning WIB.

Before the 2026 World Cup starts, FIFA first draws 48 participating countries which will later be divided into 12 groups.

This draw will separate the leading teams from meeting each other in the 2026 World Cup group phase. Previously, FIFA had released a list of 2026 World Cup pots. From the pot distribution, 12 state teams were declared superior after occupying Pot 1.

Three countries hosting the 2026 World Cup, namely the United States, Canada, and Mexico are at Pot 1 with strong teams, such as Spain, Argentina, France, Brazil, and England.

The 2026 World Cup draw can be watched via live broadcasts on TVRI Sport, FIFA.com, and the FIFA YouTube channel.

Later, each 2026 World Cup group will consist of four teams taken by each pot, one of which must be the leading team.

Heads of government from the three host countries of the 2026 World Cup will gather in Washington DC to attend the draw.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, and United States President Donald Trump have confirmed their presence at the historic event - the world Cup for the first time with 48 teams.

The three leaders will welcome millions of fans in 16 festive host cities as their country becomes the center of attention from 11 June to 19 July 2026.

Mexico will host the World Cup for the third time and will host its opening match on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Mexico City Stadium, a venue that will host 13 matches.

Canada will also host 13 matches in its debut as host of the World Cup after previously hosting the Women's World Cup in 2015 starting with its opening match on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Toronto Stadium.

Thirty-two years after the success of the 1994 World Cup which took place on American soil, the United States will host 78 matches, starting with its opening match on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Los Angeles Stadium and culminating in the final on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in New York, New Jersey.

With more than six million tickets available for the tournament, nearly two million tickets have been sold. The 2026 World Cup will bring together supporters from all over the world for an unforgettable football celebration across North America.
