Lintasarta Sends Free Starlink to Disaster Victims in Aceh and Sumatra

JAKARTA - Lintasarta is launching Lintasarta Peduli Negeri (Cares for the Nation), a program that emphasizes the company's commitment as a national digital infrastructure provider during the flood and landslide disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

As part of this effort, Lintasarta is sending six units of Starlink satellite-based communication service devices to six priority locations in Lhokseumawe, Takengon, Langsa, Bener Meriah (Aceh), and Sibolga and Langkat (North Sumatra).

All services are provided free of charge and managed directly by Lintasarta's technical team to ensure stable connectivity during the emergency response period.

"In the midst of a disaster, connectivity is not just a technical service, but a strategic necessity. Lintasarta ensures that communications remain operational so that communities can quickly recover," said Bayu Hanantasena, President Director and CEO of Lintasarta, in a statement on Friday, December 5.

In addition to restoring community communication networks, Lintasarta is also providing special connectivity support to government agencies that play a vital role in field coordination. Together with relevant agencies, the company distributed:

  • Two Starlink VSAT devices for disaster relief posts in North Sumatra.
  • Two Starlink VSAT devices were distributed to the Komdigi Media Center Information Center in Aceh with similar capacity and full technical management from the Lintasarta team.
  • Two Starlink VSAT devices were distributed through Bank Aceh to affected Acehnese communities with similar capacity and full technical management from the Lintasarta team.

Lintasarta also prioritized restoring strategic customer service, particularly in the banking sector and government agencies, through field technical support and accelerated network infrastructure repairs.

On the humanitarian front, the company distributed financial assistance, logistics, and basic necessities to communities and Lintasarta employees directly affected in Aceh and North Sumatra.

"We are committed to ensuring every citizen remains connected, regardless of the circumstances. Technology must be present not only for business efficiency, but also for humanity," concluded Bayu.
