Accompanied By Bobby, Gibran Checks Food Aid At Medan Logistics Warehouse
JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka accompanied by North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution inspected and checked food aid stocks in a logistics warehouse located at the Soewondo Air Force Base, Medan.
This visit became Gibran's final point after reviewing three locations affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra, starting from Agam Regency, West Sumatra; South Tapanuli, North Sumatra and Aceh Singkil, Aceh, to ensure that the distribution route for aid for victims runs quickly and on target according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.
When he arrived at the location, the Vice President toured the warehouse to check various basic necessities for the victims, and listened to the explanation of the Head of the Soewondo Air Base Territorial Service Colonel Pas Firman Manurung.
"This is one of the air task forces in the North Sumatra region. This assistance is part of the people of Medan, and this was sent from Jakarta," said Firman as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 4.
During his review, the Vice President saw firsthand the condition of storage of various aid supplies allocated to victims of floods and landslides in the Sumatra region.
The Vice President emphasized that the entire aid distribution process must run quickly, given the high needs of people in areas affected by floods and landslides.
Gibran requested that warehousing management, loading and unloading processes, and coordination between agencies continue to be improved so that there are no obstacles in distributing aid, especially to areas where access is still limited.
The vice president also instructed that the data on receipts and distribution of aid be managed in a transparent and integrated manner, so that all parties can monitor logistics movements accurately.
He emphasized President Prabowo's directive is to ensure that all disaster victims are immediately handled, as well as assistance to reach each region without exception.
All aid received from various parties through Soewondo Air Base will continue to be distributed to various regions, including Sibolga City, Central Tapanuli Regency, Aceh Tamiang Regency, Lhoksumawe City, Rembele, and various other areas.
Before leaving for Jakarta, the Vice President had advised Governor Bobby that he would review the disaster site in the next week to ensure that the distribution of heavy equipment runs smoothly.
"Next week we will come here again, yes," said Gibran.
