The Ministry Of Public Works Ensures National Infrastructure Is Ready To Face Weather Challenges Towards The End Of The Year

Deputy Minister of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti ensured that her party had prepared national infrastructure to face weather challenges as well as a surge in mobility towards the end of 2025 and welcome the New Year 2026.

This was conveyed by Diana when giving a speech at the 2025 Regional Infrastructure Development Infrastructure Coordination Meeting (Rakorangwil) at the Ministry of Public Works Auditorium, Jakarta, Thursday, December 4.

Diana said that her party had also prepared all disaster preparedness equipment, such as heavy equipment, gabions, geobags, posts and so on available throughout Indonesia.

"And PU personnel are ready to work swiftly, quickly and empathically," said Diana.

He added that his party had also held meetings with agencies throughout Indonesia in West Java on a preparation mission towards the end of 2025 and welcomed the new year 2026.

"This is a picture of our readiness, as seen in West Java and throughout Indonesia," he said.

The former Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of PUPR added that the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) had reported to it that there would be extreme weather from December 2025 to January 2026.

BMKG predicts that almost all areas of Java, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara to parts of South Sulawesi and South Papua have the potential to experience high to very high rain.

Therefore, Diana asked the public to be aware of the predictions from the BMKG.

"Bismillah, hopefully there will be no more disasters. However, we remain vigilant because the BMKG prediction shows the potential for high rain in December and January," he said.

Diana admitted that her party is currently moving quickly to respond to various disasters, such as the eruption of Mount Semeru in East Java, flash floods and landslides in Central Java and in Sumatra.

"Recovery of post-disaster infrastructure continues to be carried out so that community activities continue to run well," he said.
