Luis Suarez Aims For An Important Role When Inter Miami Appears In The MLS Cup Final
JAKARTA - Inter Miami CF striker Luis Suarez stressed that he continues to work hard on and off the pitch to prove to head coach Javier Mascherano that he can play a more active role in the 2025 MLS Cup final (MLS Cup) on Sunday, December 7, 2025, early morning WIB.
Suarez initially underwent a one-match suspension in the third match of the 2025 MLS First Round against Nashville SC.
He finally made off the bench in the semifinals and finals of the Eastern Region. Mascherano chose to play Mateo Silvetti as Suarez's successor, developing an attack line into a combination of Silvetti, Lionel Messi, and Tadeo Allende.
"I've always wanted to play. Throughout my career, I almost always had the opportunity to play. However, with the maturity I have now, I understand the situation, understand the coach's reasons and plans for a game like against FC Cincinnati. I did well without any problems. "

"The goal is to convey to those who are on the field to give their best. Then there are seven or eight players waiting for the same energy as them because we are a team."
"Of course, we want to play more than we can play, but that's how it is. The point is to practice, give more, and show the coach that we can play more than 10 or 15 minutes, like I did," Suarez told ESPN.
Inter Miami is now entering the MLS Cup after three consecutive wins, scoring four or more goals in each game to reach the final.
After beating Nashville 4-0 in the final match of the decisive First Round of MLS, they then won 4-0 over FC Cincinnati in the semifinals of the Eastern Region and beat New York City 5-1 in the Eastern Region final.
Suarez entered the field against New York City in the 82nd minute replacing Silvetti.
Now, the team will prepare to enter their second final in the 2025 season after reaching the final match of the 2025 League Cup (Leagues Cup) tournament.
Inter Miami will also be battling the MLS Cup for the first time in club history since joining the league in 2020 as an expansion team.
"Someone is trying hard to tell those who haven't played in the final, but this team has played in the final this year."
"Everything didn't go the way we wanted, but we have to try to deal with it in the best possible way."
"We played at home with the players who made the difference. Yes, we came with a good rhythm, both in terms of football and mentality, which was clearly seen in the final when one team came up with a good performance and the other team came up with a poorer performance."
"At this stage, both teams came with good performance, but we really have high morale considering the results we achieved recently," said Suarez.
Suarez's contract expires after the 2025 MLS season. Although the player and club have not disclosed their plans for the future, Suarez said he hopes to make his new shoes special by wearing them in a match that may be his final.
