Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office Detains 12 Suspects In The Corruption Case Of Dinstan Kaur
BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has detained 12 suspects in the alleged corruption case at the Kaur Regency Agriculture Office for Fiscal Year 2023 with a budget value of IDR 7.3 billion.
The suspects are being held at the Malabero Detention Center in Bengkulu City for the next 20 days for the benefit of the legal process.
"It is true that we have received 12 detainees from the Bengkulu Police regarding the alleged corruption case of the Kaur Regency Agriculture Service. They were entrusted to the Malabero Detention Center for the next 20 days. The suspects were divided into two clusters, namely from the service and providers," said Head of the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office, Arif Wirawan, in Bengkulu, Antara, Thursday, December 4.
The Prosecutor's Office has also received a refund of state losses of Rp. 953 million from related parties. In addition, five to eight Public Prosecutors (JPU) were prepared for the trial process at the Bengkulu Corruption Court (Tipikor).
"In addition to the suspect, we also received evidence and refunds of state losses of Rp953 million," said Arif.
The 12 suspects include the Head of the Kaur Regency Agriculture Service with the initials LI, the Head of Livestock and Animal Health RF, Functional Officials and JH Planning, as well as nine service providers with the initials BS, AA, KMR, YLS, NZR, YS, AM, JA, and EA.
Meanwhile, Panit 1 of the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Bengkulu Police Ditreskrimsus, Iptu Syaiful Bahri, conveyed that all files, evidence, and suspects had been officially transferred to the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office.
The alleged corruption case relates to the construction and procurement of agricultural facilities at the Kaur Regency Agriculture Service with a ceiling of IDR 7.3 billion sourced from the DPA of the Agriculture Service in 2023.
"Investigators found irregularities in budget implementation. There were four buildings declared construction failure," said Syaiful.
