Victim Reaches 770 People, Gibran Flies To Aceh-Sumatra Conducts Quick Review
JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka left for Sumatra on Thursday, December 4 to directly inspect three provinces affected by flash floods and landslides, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Gibran departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at around 05.00 WIB to Minangkabau International Airport, West Sumatra.
He was seen wearing a blue shirt, black pants, and sneakers, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto and Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Andre Rosiade using the Boeing 737-800 presidential plane.
During the visit, the Vice President will review the condition of the affected residents, have a dialogue with the local government, and evaluate obstacles to disaster management in the field. This step is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's direction so that the mitigation process, emergency handling, and infrastructure recovery are carried out quickly and coordinated.
After West Sumatra, Gibran is scheduled to go to South Tapanuli Regency (North Sumatra) and Aceh Singkil Regency (Aceh). Ahead of his return to Jakarta, the Vice President will also review the logistics warehouse at Soewondo Polonia Air Base, Medan, which is the point of distribution of aid to affected areas.

The number of victims due to disasters in the three provinces now reaches 770 people, based on data from the BNPB Pusdatin as of Wednesday afternoon. Hundreds of residents are still reported missing, while the evacuation process continues to be carried out massively.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto had visited the victims in Sumatra last week.
