Radiohead Concert Postponed, Fans Treat Disappointment Via Mass Karaoke
JAKARTA - Hundreds of fans gathered together to hold a big karaoke party spontaneously after Radiohead canceled their first two shows in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Previously, Radiohead announced that their two scheduled concerts at the Royal Arena, Copenhagen, had to be postponed.
This cancellation was delivered suddenly on Monday, December 1, after Thom Yorke was diagnosed with extreme throat infections that made it impossible to sing on stage.
Even though fans at Copenhagen were disappointed, they didn't let that bad news stop them from enjoying their fun time.
The spirit of togetherness also emerged from social media. A Reddit user suggested that they should filter out the disappointment through karaoke. He claims to have ordered a bar in the city center to channel the idea.
The room suggested on the Reddit page is actually recorded to only have a capacity of 25 people. However, citing NME, the number of attendees that night even reached thousands.
"We created a Radiohead party at a karaoke bar in Copenhagen and about 1000 people came," said Cory McLeod, one of the ticket owners who ended up participating in karaoke.
"The place was packed throughout the night. This is the best alternative for everyone who travels long to be there," he added.

As for the announcement of the postponement, Radiohead apologized deeply.
"We were devastated to have postponed these two shows in such a very short time, but Thom has been diagnosed with extreme throat infections that make it impossible to sing," reads Radiohead's official statement.
"We have been greatly amazed by the audience's reaction on these dates and are delighted to be back on stage; it doesn't need to be said again, we feel so bad because we were forced to postpone this show."
The show, which was supposed to be held on December 1 and 2, has been rescheduled until December 15 and 16. Tickets that have been purchased will automatically be diverted to a new date, and refunds can be obtained from the purchase site.
Meanwhile, the concert schedule on December 4 and 5 is still in Copenhagen. It is reported that it will still take place as planned.
For information, Radiohead recently completed four nights of concerts sold out at The O2 Arena, London, and set a new record for attendance.
Thom Yorke cs' achievements even surpassed Metallica's previous record since 2017.
