Colombian President to Trump: I'd Destroy 18,400 Cocaine Labs Without Missiles, Don't Threaten Sovereignty!

JAKARTA - Colombian President Gustavo Petro was disturbed by the threat of a military attack on his country made by US President Donald Trump during a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Tuesday local time.

Amidst US intervention in Venezuela, Trump during the meeting alleged that Colombia produces cocaine and sells it to the US. Trump warned Colombia of a potential US military attack in connection with this.

Petro then insinuated that Trump, without bombings that could cause significant casualties, had made significant efforts to halt drug production by destroying cocaine production sites.

"Without missiles, I have destroyed 18,400 laboratories during my administration. Come with me and I will show you how they are destroyed—one laboratory every 40 minutes," Petro wrote on his X social media account on Wednesday, December 3.

Petro warned Trump against threatening Colombia's sovereignty. He said that threats of war against Colombia were tantamount to waking up the "Jaguar."

"Don't damage diplomatic relations that have existed for two centuries. You have slandered me; don't continue that," Petro said, referring to Trump's previous public statements that the Colombian leader was involved in drug trafficking.

In his post on X, Petro also invited Trump to visit Colombia to witness the destruction of the cocaine laboratory firsthand.

"He's already slandered me, don't continue like that. If any country can help stop thousands of tons of cocaine from reaching America, it's Colombia," he continued.
