The Attorney General's Office For Customs And Excise Officials, Djaka Expressed That The Examination Is Still Ongoing

JAKARTA - Director General of Customs and Excise Djaka Budhi Utama opened his voice regarding the examination conducted by the Attorney General's Office (AGO) at the head office as well as at several DJBC officials' residences.

"That's an old case, old case, palm oil problem and its derivatives. From 2021 to 2024, if I'm not mistaken," he told the media crew at the Jakarta Customs Regional Office, Wednesday, December 3.

Djaka emphasized that the inspection was not only carried out at the DJBC Headquarters, but also in a number of regional offices that were related to palm oil export activities.

However, he stressed that the entire process is still under the handling of the Attorney General's Office.

He also added that he did not want to rush to conclude the mistakes of his employees.

"We do not necessarily judge that personnel from Customs and Excise made a mistake. But as long as the legal process is ongoing, we will provide assistance or support to Customs employees who are examined," he explained.

For information at this time, the AGO is investigating allegations of corruption in the export of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) in 2022 and examination of witnesses and searches have been carried out since October 2025.

Meanwhile, POME itself is liquid waste originating from the production process of palm oil, but even though it has waste status, POME can be used as an economic-valued product.
