Supporting The Smooth Improvement Of Community Mobility, KAI Logistics Sends 7 Locomotives To Java
JAKARTA - KAI Logistics, a subsidiary of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), has again demonstrated its commitment to providing integrated, superior, and trusted logistics services. Through the KALOG Pro service in the Logistic Project segment, KAI Logistik is carrying out the delivery of seven locomotive units from Sumatra Island to Java Island as support for the smooth increase in community mobility, especially during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2025/2026 transportation.
"The delivery has been carried out in stages since November 25, 2025 from the Rejosari Divre IV Tanjungkarang Gerbong Depot to the Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) Station in the Daop 1 Jakarta area. The seven CC 206 Locomotives each have a weight of 88 tons and are planned to arrive entirely at JICT on December 2, 2025," said KAI Logistics VP of Corporate Secretary, Dwi Wulandari, in his statement, Wednesday, December 3.
The delivery of locomotives is a strategic step to support the increase in train travel frequency in order to increase passenger transport capacity, as well as prepare operational needs and succession programs in 2026. This optimization is also expected to strengthen service reliability and meet the high demand for public travel during the Nataru 2025/2026 transportation period.
Since 2018, KAI Logistics has continued to be trusted to handle various logistics projects of railway facilities within the KAI Group. The company's capabilities in handling heavy cargo have been proven through various strategic shipments, ranging from locomotives, carriages, LRT and KRL series, to various railway infrastructure such as rails, MTT trains, KPJ cars, bridge frames, diesel, and spare parts.
This track record strengthens KAI Logistics' position as an important part of the national railway logistics ecosystem, as well as shows the company's ability to manage high-value shipments with high safety and professionalism standards.
By obtaining a permit from the Multimodal Transport Business Entity (BUAM), KAI Logistics has the capacity to integrate various modes of transportation so that the delivery process can take place more efficiently and on time. In the transfer of locomotives, the company operates certified cranes with licensed operators, and utilizes multi axle trucks designed for heavy load distribution to ensure safety during the transportation process.
Given the strategic value and complexity of the locomotive sent, KAI Logistics also deployed a team of certified experts in the field of supply chain management to oversee each delivery phase thoroughly.

The entire series of activities is carried out through strict monitoring procedures, including the implementation of joint inspection both at the time of departure and when goods are received, to ensure the condition of the locomotive remains according to standards. To strengthen protection, the entire shipping process is protected by All Risk Insurance as a mitigation measure that provides additional guarantees for the safety and security of these high-value goods.
"KAI Logistics will continue to play an active role in supporting national mobility and ensuring the smooth running of supply chains, especially in the railway sector. The delivery of this locomotive is a concrete proof of our readiness and capability in handling large-scale heavy cargoes. We are committed to providing safe, reliable, and quality services as part of our support for community travel and KAI operations during the Nataru 2025/2026 period as well as strategic programs in the future," concluded Dwi.
