Excavators Start Searching For Landslide Victims In Tinggam Talamau, West Pasaman
The search for victims buried by landslides in Tinggam, Nagari (Village) Sinuruik, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) began by deploying heavy excavator equipment.
"The search has started at 09.00 WIB. Until 15.00 WIB, victims suspected of being buried by landslides have not been found," said Deputy Regent of West Pasaman M Ihpan while reviewing the search for victims in Talamau District, Wednesday, December 3.
According to him, the search for the 4 victims continues and it is planned that there will be additional heavy equipment today.
"Two heavy equipment have gone to the landslide location on Lubuk Attitude Street, Pasaman Regency, because access in Rimbo Crime Kajai and Pasanggiang Talu still cannot be reached by four wheels," he said.
The search for victims buried by landslides was commanded by the Basarnas team assisted by the Police, TNI, PMI and surrounding residents.
While looking for victims, heavy equipment also opened access roads, because the location of the landslide was flooded with water and made the search for victims a little hampered.
Ihpan asked the public to entrust the joint team to find victims as soon as possible.
"Let's pray that the victim will be quickly found by the joint team," he said.
For the two heavy equipment that will come, one unit will open access roads to Bateh Samuik, making it easier to distribute logistics to affected residents.
The field coordinator from the West Pasaman Spatial Planning Public Works Office, Mulyadi, said that his party was ready to work until the evening if the weather allowed it.
"Until 15.00 WIB, the victim could not be found," he said.
Wali Nagari (Village) Sinuruik Frianton said the landslide in the area occurred on Friday (28/11) at around 04.00 WIB.
