Rachel Amanda Stressed Through Stand-Up Comedy Scenes: It's Better To Sing Or What Deh
YOGYAKARTA - Actress Rachel Amanda faces the biggest challenge in her acting career when she has to play a comedian named Tawa in the film "Satika Duka Tawa". She openly admits that the stand-up comedy scene makes her very stressed and depressed.
In order to explore her role, Rachel was encouraged by the director to try out the open mic directly on the real stage. This experience makes him appreciate single comedy art even more which he thinks is very difficult.
"Just watching him (Emon's Star) I'm really stressed, Cok. That means plus the stress is suddenly on the open mic stage," Rachel said at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF).
He also told how his colleague, Enzy Storia, had experienced similar pressure when he had to do a stand-up scene.

For Rachel, the pressure when she has to look good in front of the camera feels so heavy. He even felt that he preferred to do a singing scene rather than having to pretend to be a comic.
"I'm better at singing or something, that's it. But I was told to stand-up scenes are stressful," he honestly admitted.
Despite the pressure, the experience of open mics before filming really helped him. He felt more confident when he had to act in front of the camera.
This experience also gave him a deeper understanding of the profession of a comedian. He now understands how a comic can turn a painful personal story into material that invites laughter.
"So I understand about... 'Oh, this is it,' maybe it feels more like a layer to be a comicee," he explained.
In the end, Rachel is very grateful that she has "disbursed" into the world of stand-up comedy. Without coercion from the director, he may never dare to try this art which he thinks is very difficult.
