KKP Releases Cs-137 Free Shrimp Exports To US Worth IDR 25 Billion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has again exported 10 containers of Cesium 137 (Cs-137)-free shrimp worth IDR 25 billion to the United States (US), today.

This release simultaneously took place at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, and Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, East Java. A total of four containers were released through Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta and six containers were released through Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya. The destination is several ports in the United States, such as Los Angeles, Houston, dress and Miami.

Meanwhile, the KKP has released 303 containers of Cs-137 free shrimp exports worth IDR 949 billion to the US from 31 October to 2 December 2025.

"And today we released 10 containers and we report that by the end of December 605 containers will be released. So, it is very, very extraordinary," said Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono during an export release event at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 3.

Trenggono ensured that all fish processing units (UPI) would buy all products produced by the cultivators. He ensured that his party was serious about handling the problem.

"We take this seriously and believe that not only our commodities in the seafood sector, but also many other commodities, of course we also have to take good care of," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Marine and Fishery Product Quality Control and Supervision Agency (Badan Mutu KKP) Ishartini said that the Cs-137 free certification was ready to carry out shrimp exports back to the US after going through a scanning and testing process by inspectors at the Java and Lampung fish processing units.

"The number of containers from October 31 to December 2 yesterday was shipped to America as many as 303 containers from Tanjung Perak, Surabaya 228 containers and from Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, 75 containers. The total volume is 5,218 tons worth Rp949 billion," he said.

Ishartini added, starting tomorrow, December 4 until the end of the month, KKP is ready to export 292 containers with a volume of 5,000 tons worth Rp900 billion.

"Thus, we report that from October 31 to the end of December exports to America will reach 605 containers or 10,000 tons worth Rp1.8 trillion," he said.
