Xabi Alonso Banks Rumors Of Splits In Real Madrid's Dressing Room: We Are Solid And United

JAKARTA - After the last five inconclusive matches, Xabi Alonso's seat immediately heated up. In that period, Real Madrid only won once, drew three times, and lost once in all competitions.

In the aftermath, Real Madrid were evicted by their rivals, Barcelona, from the top of the 2025/2026 LaLiga standings. Rumors of divisions in the Los Blancos dressing room immediately surfaced.

There have been reports of problems between the coach and the senior players. However, Alonso immediately denied this.

"I've always felt that this team is united. We all know what the goal is, reaching the end of the season with a chance to win everything."

"We are always together in good and bad times. We have a good connection every day. Regardless of all the rumors and what some might say, we are very solid internally," said Alonso.

Real Madrid's poor results began with the 0-1 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League. After that, they only drew 0-0 against Rayo Vallecano and 2-2 against Elche in LaLiga.

The results sparked speculation that there was something behind the scenes. Fortunately, rumors eased with a 4-3 win against Olympiacos in the Champions League.

At the moment of the visit to Greece, senior player got on board. Kylian Mbappe emphasized that his colleagues must protect Alonso.

"The influence it has, the intangible things, is very important to build a team. Of course there are things that need to be improved."

"I know people talk a lot from outside. It's natural that people talk when playing for Real Madrid. We have to protect the players, coaches and staff."

"We are all together on this. I will not say we are against those outside, but we are together. I know the supporters support us," Mbappe told Movistar.

Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior hugged the coach on the pitch after the final whistle sounded in the match against Olympiacos.

Previously, Alonso's relationship with Vinicius continued to be highlighted, after the Brazilian striker was backed up four times this season and reacted angrily when he was replaced at El Clasico last month.

"It's a shame (Vinicius)' goal was disallowed. We've talked about such a movement, it was a normal goal for him," said Alonso.

"We've gone through some good periods. We need that dominance, control, continuity and consistency."

"We have increased, especially in terms of defense. I'm not satisfied with a few things, especially the goals we conceded in recent matches. We're still in the repair stage," he said again.

Furthermore, Alonso praised Jude Bellingham by saying the England midfielder has a desire to learn, and to be more efficient. He has also defended Trent Alexander-Arnold's contribution so far.

"We need Trent. This is his first year and adaptation is a natural thing. He's also suing himself. We have to support him through this big change," said the Spaniard.

However, the momentum of victory against Olympiacos did not continue when they returned to LaLiga. Real Madrid were only able to draw 1-1 against Girona. Alonso's tactics were also criticized.

A visit to the Athletic Club headquarters on Thursday, December 4, 2025, early morning WIB, will also prove to the coach.

"Today is important to change the dynamics with the moments we are going through. We are all united. We know this will be a long and demanding season."

"There will be various kinds of situations. There are moments that you have to face. Today is a step forward," Alonso told Movistar.
