29-year-old Man Arrested In Kendari With 6.5 Kg Of Shabu
The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Dit Resnarkoba) of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) arrested a man carrying 6.5 kilograms of methamphetamine in the Kadia District, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), on Tuesday, December 2 afternoon.
Director of Resnarkoba Polda Sultra Kombes Pol Bambang Sukmo Wibowo said that during the arrest, officers arrested a perpetrator with the initials DP (29).
"During the arrest, eight packages of methamphetamine were found with a gross weight of 6.5 kilograms," said Bambang, quoted by Antara.
He said the disclosure began with information from the public who conveyed that there would be illegal narcotics transactions in the MTSN 2 Kendari area.
Armed with this information, Team 2 Unit 1 Sub-Directorate 2 of the Narcotics Directorate of the Southeast Sulawesi Police immediately conducted an investigation and monitoring around the location where the narcotics transaction will be held.
"Then, at around 15.00 WITA, the team found and saw a DP man driving a four-wheeled vehicle and it was suspected that he would carry out illegal narcotics transactions," he said.
Immediately, the team immediately intercepted. However, at that time the DP fled by driving a four-wheeled vehicle, and was chased by the police team.
Approximately 20 minutes on the run, the DP was intercepted and arrested in front of SMAN 4 Kendari.
"During the search witnessed by the public, six packages of methamphetamine were found in a cloth bag belonging to the DP," said Bambang.
Bambang explained that during interrogation, DP admitted that he still kept the methamphetamine package at his boarding house, which was not far from the location of the arrest. At that time, the police immediately went to the boarding house and got two other packages of methamphetamine that were hidden by the DP.

For his actions, DP violated Article 114 Paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
