Marketed Since 2012, Honda Calls Sales Vario 125 Tembus 9 Million Units

JAKARTA - Honda Vario 125 has reiterated its position as one of the most popular scooters in Indonesia. Since it first paved in 2012, this model has become the community's main choice, especially because of its already huge population.

Honda itself started marketing Vario since 2006 with a 110 cc engine. Its evolution continues until there is a larger engine variant of 160 cc.

Towards the end of this year, Vario 125 officially holds the status of All New with a series of updates. This update cannot be separated from the successful sales of Vario 125 in the country.

"Vario 125 is one of the popular models. 9 million units are sold in 13 years," said Astra Honda Motor (AHM) Vice President Thomas Wijaya in Cikarang, West Java.

This sticker has transformed into a mainstay mobility mode, especially for young people. No longer just a means of transportation, Vario has become part of the user's lifestyle.

In line with that, Honda released the latest generation of Vario 125, including the naked one variant named Vario Street 125. In addition, AHM also presents a facelift Vario 125 which looks fresher, even though the engine is still the same.

"The 125 cc scutik segment has great potential in Indonesia because it is very suitable for the daily needs of people who want efficient, practical, and advanced motorcycles. The All New Honda Vario 125 type variety that we present is expected to provide new choices for consumers who want motorbikes with a sporty and still functional appearance," said Thomas.

The refreshes provided include the design of the now-sports, rear, and winker lights that are more sporty and modern. The character V-Shape on the main light is maintained, but now gets a touch of the latest LED technology. The design of the meter panel is also updated with a fresher pattern.

For the Street model, the most striking difference can be seen in the wheel of the naked type such as BEAT Street, separate meter panels, and the use of attractive rims. Practical features are also improved. Vario 125 is now equipped with USB Charger Type-C for smartphone charging.

While the front box console space is made wider. The engine remains the same, but the weight of the motorbike is now 300 grams lighter than the previous model.

AHM Marketing Director, Octavianus Dwi, did not specify the latest Vario 125 sales target. However, he is optimistic that this model can contribute about 15 percent of Honda's total sales in Indonesia.
