BSI: 72 Percent Of Branch Offices In Aceh Have Returned To Operation Post-flood
PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) said that around 72 percent or 104 branch service outlets in Aceh had returned to operation as of Tuesday after the hydrometeorological disaster that hit a number of areas on the island of Sumatra.
This number includes outlets in Banda Aceh (49 outlets), Lhokseumawe (21 outlets), and Meulaboh (34 outlets). The gradual recovery is carried out considering the condition of infrastructure readiness for supporting outlets from the electricity side, communication facilities, and branch office conditions, as well as access around the branch office location.
BSI Corporate Secretary Wisnu Sunandar in his statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 3, said that the company was empathizing with the disaster that befell the people of Aceh and its surroundings, which also happened to some BSI branch offices in the Aceh region so that they could not operate normally.
"We are trying our best to accelerate the recovery of services to make it easier for customers to make financial transactions," said Wisnu.
Wisnu added that BSI gradually continues to inform various alternative BSI services that can be accessed by the public as a form of service commitment to customers.
Along with branch services, BSI also accelerates the recovery of ATM services. Currently, about 60 percent of the total ATMs in Aceh are operating.
The majority of ATMs that have not been able to serve transactions are located in disaster-affected areas with positions that are still difficult to reach and supporting infrastructure that is still minimal due to flooding that has not subsided.
"In some areas affected, branch services are already operating and customers can make transactions at the nearest office that is already operating," said Wisnu.
He also appealed to the public to be careful of fraud on behalf of BSI. Customers are advised to always re-examine information through official BSI channels such as website www.bankbsi.co.id as well as official BSI social media as well as various other official channels.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, BSI and BSI Maslahat again sent logistical assistance for the third phase weighing 10 tons. This assistance is a continuation of the first and second stages of assistance weighing 27 tons, bringing the total assistance to 37 tons.
