Google Recorder App Update Presents Changes To Main Audio Features
Google has started rolling out the latest update for the Recorder app on Pixel devices. Through Recorder version v4.2.20251104, users get some important changes, especially on the Clear Voice feature which now appears with a new name, as well as an additional interface that makes application usage more intuitive.
One of the biggest changes is changing the name of the Clear Voice' feature to Auto Clear Voice. Google also added a note that this feature will consume more storage, although functionally no changes are visible.
The Auto Clear Voice feature remains functioning as before reducing background noise during the recording process, improving the clarity of the main voice, and making the recording results cleaner.

In recordings that use this feature, users will now see the Clear Voice indicator chip on the playback screen. The chip will tag that the recording has been upgraded automatically by Auto Clear Voice. Users can also return to the original audio via options that appear on the screen, which will take them to the voice settings menu on the bottom as before.
In addition to changes to the audio feature, this update also introduces the new UI account switcher in the app. This design follows Google's latest interface style and makes it easier for users to move between those registered on their Pixel devices.
Google previously added Clear Voice to Recorder in December 2024 after the feature was seen in development. Now, with this latest update, the company is increasingly polishing the audio recording experience on Pixel devices, making it easier, clearer, and more flexible for users.
All of these changes are already available to Pixel users. If your Recorder app has been updated, you can immediately try out the new features.
