North Aceh's Interior Areas Can't Be Accessed

Spokesperson for the North Aceh Government, Muntasir Ramli, stated that there are still some remote areas in North Aceh Regency that cannot be reached and accessed, because they are still submerged in floods and mud.

"The distribution of aid to each sub-district to be distributed to evacuation points has been evenly distributed, but has not been able to reach all evacuation points, especially isolated areas," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 2.

As for remote areas that cannot be reached by land routes, namely Stepan, Baktia, West Baktia, Sawang, and Lapang.

He explained that the electricity and communication networks, both internet and call services in some areas, were not yet normal, these conditions hampered communication, reports of emergency conditions, coordination of evacuation and logistics distribution.

"The residents' settlements are still flooded and mud and the evacuation process for survivors and deaths is assisted by the BPBD SAR Team, Basarnas, TNI/Polri, PMI, fishermen and volunteers," he said.

Then, the logistics of the panic period are distributed through the Main Command Post to the District Office and forwarded to the evacuation point

According to him, there are several things that are very urgent to do, namely evacuation, search and rescue of flood victims who are still declared missing which continues to be carried out

Then, the availability and distribution of logistics to a number of evacuation points, especially areas that are still isolated.

Furthermore, the recovery of electricity and communication lines that are still blank out and the availability of clean water and sanitation at evacuation points and LPG at all evacuation points

"We also need heavy equipment for the normalization of sewers, the opening of isolated areas," he said.
