Coupang User Data Leaked, A Total Of 33.7 Million Affected Accounts
JAKARTA - South Korea's largest e-commerce platform, Coupang, has confirmed a data leak incident that affected tens of millions of customer accounts.
On the aid page, the company said there were at least 33.7 million details of accounts exposed in an incident that was known to occur on June 24, 2025, but was only fully identified in November.
According to recent research, the incident occurred on June 24, 2025. On November 18, 2025, Coupang realized unauthorized access to personal information related to about 4,500 customer accounts. Further investigations reveal that 33.7 million account details have been exposed," the company wrote.
The data affected in this incident are name, phone number, email address, delivery address, and order information.
The company insists that information such as payments, credit card information, and login information, such as passwords, are not exposed and are still securely protected.
Upon learning of this incident, Coupang immediately reported it to the relevant authorities, including the National Police Agency, the Personal Information Protection Commission, and the Korean Internet & Security Agency.
