Pertamina Says 90 Percent Of Disaster Gas Stations Have Been Served
JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga ensures that the energy supply for people in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, is in a safe condition in line with the recovery of fuel supply operations from sea lanes.
Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Mars Ega Legowo Putra revealed that around 90 percent of gas stations in disaster-affected areas have returned to service.
However, a number of points, especially parts of Aceh and Sibolga, still face distribution challenges because road access is cut off.
"To speed up the opening of the affected lane, Pertamina Patra Niaga supplies fuel to heavy equipment belonging to the Ministry of Public Works both through drum and jerry can packaging. Special shipments are also made using the Indonesian Air Force Hercules, including today which transports 25 Solar and Pertamax drums to Pinangsori, areas that are still isolated from Sibolga so that heavy equipment can immediately operate to open logistics lines from both directions," he said in a statement to the media, Tuesday, December 2.
Mars Ega also said that the operations of 19 fuel terminals in northern Sumatra had returned to normal after several fuel carriers could dock.
"With the recovery of marine supply, the stock of fuel in the terminal has increased and now recovery efforts are focused on accelerating distribution to gas stations with strategic points," he continued.

"Pertamina Patra Niaga ensures that the aviation fuel needs for the movement of aid aircraft are maintained so that air access for the community is not cut off," he said.
On the other hand, LPG's supply still faces challenges, especially in Aceh where land access has not fully recovered.
For this reason, LPG supply to Banda Aceh was diverted by sea from Lhokseumawe.
Pertamina Patra Niaga targets that in the next two days the distribution of LPG to residents can be normalized gradually.
To accelerate the recovery of overall energy services, Pertamina Patra Niaga also mobilized additional tank car crews.
Until now, 58 Tank Car Crews (AMT) have been imported from South Sumatra, Central Java, and Kalimantan, and this number is targeted up to 80 AMT to ensure fuel shipments are getting faster and reach all areas in need.
