Elon Musk Shares Free Starlink For Disaster Victims, Here's How To Access!
JAKARTA - Starlink announced the provision of free internet services for new and old customers affected by major floods in Indonesia, especially in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra.
In its announcement, the company owned by billionaire Elon Musk said that the aid program was in effect until the end of December 2025 in an effort to support communication recovery in the worst-affected region.
"We are also working with the Indonesian government to accelerate terminal delivery and restore connectivity in the most affected areas," the company wrote.
Starlink explained that active customers in affected areas do not need to take any action. The company automatically adds a free service credit to the user's account.
For customers whose services are being suspended or paused, Starlink also provides free service credit so they can reactivate the service and make use of it during the aid period.
Meanwhile, for new customers in the disaster area, Starlink will provide free service access once the device is purchased and activated.
