Reza Rahadian To Eva Celia Play The Long Laut Story Film

JAKARTA - The production house of Pal8 Pictures announced its first feature film titled Sea Storytelling. This film is an adaptation of a novel titled me byester S. Chudori.

Long-Sea film Bercerita was announced by the production house at JAFF Market, Yogyakarta, on Monday, December 1, 2025. This fictional drama film set in the late 1990s was directed by the leading director Yosep Anggi Noen.

The shootings were carried out at the end of 2025, including in Semarang and Salatiga, Central Java, and Sukabumi, West Java. ERADICATION S. Chudori also worked on the script with Yosep Anggi Noen.

The Sea Tells the story of Arya Wibisono who lost their eldest son, Biru Laut. They heard that Biru Laut joined a student discussion group and was detained by unknown people.

The family of Wibisono and Ratih Anjani, lover of the Sea, kept looking for her tirelessly. Dozens of years passed, the Arya Wibisono couple still believed Biru Laut was still alive. Meanwhile, his younger brother, Asmara Jati, believes his brother is dead.

Some of the names that have been announced are Reza Rahadian playing Biru Laut. In addition, this film played Dian Sastrowardoyo as Kasih Kinanti, Eva Celia as Ratih Anjani, Yunita Siregar as Asmara Jati, Christine Hakim and Arswendy Bening Swara as parents of the Sea, and others.

A number of the premieres released on Monday, December 1 showed a little warmth of the Sea family which transitioned to the intensity between the Sea and Ratih.

"I feel honored to be trusted to direct an adaptation film from this important and best-selling novel," said Yosep Anggi Noen as the director.

"When you lose to a story as wide as the ocean, this story becomes so important to be visualized," said Reza Rahadian.

Previously, in 2017, Dian and Wisnu Darmawan produced a short Sea Story film directed by Pritagita Arianegara. Until now, it is still crowded with spectators every time it is broadcast on various campuses and art centers.

The storytelling Sea film is planned to be shown in Indonesian cinemas in 2026.
