DPR: Top Priority Is Not A Disaster Status, But A Rescuity And Reconstruction
JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Lasarus, fully handed over to President Prabowo Subianto regarding the determination of the status of national disasters against floods and landslides in Aceh-Sumatra. Most importantly, said Lasarus, the Government must maximize the search for victims and immediately carry out infrastructure reconstruction, especially bridges, roads and houses for residents affected by the disaster.

There is also a Ministry of Public Works in the strategic field, can build community facilities, public facilities, roads, bridges. Lasarus said that Commission V of the DPR had decided to support road reconstruction first. "Later, we will agree on the budget later, the important thing is to handle it quickly first because in the field the situation is very emergency," he said.
Lasarus said that Commission V of the DPR also highlighted the causes of flash floods that occurred in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, causing severe damage. According to BMKG, said Lasarus, the rain, which should have fallen in one month, actually spilled over within one day.
