Helping Disaster Victims In Sumatra, SIG Sends A Rapid Response Team And Distributes Aid To Establish Command Posts

JAKARTA - Floods and landslides caused by extreme rainfall that hit areas in West Sumatra, Aceh, and North Sumatra at the end of November 2025, have caused damage to residential areas and public facilities, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate to temporary shelters, causing casualties. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) together with its subsidiaries, PT Semen Padang and PT Solusi Bangun Andalas, moved quickly to provide disaster response assistance for the victims.

In West Sumatra, GIS through the PT Semen Padang Rapid Response Team (TRC) in collaboration with other joint teams, helped evacuate and provide assistance to victims, and carried out mapping related needs at disaster sites.

In addition to disaster response assistance, as of Saturday, November 29, PT Semen Padang has also distributed logistical assistance in the form of 1,600 food packages consisting of rice, eggs, instant noodles, cooking oil, sugar, mineral water, and tarpaulin assistance. Assistance is distributed to 5 sub-districts in Padang City, including Pauh District, Central Koto District, Nanggalo District, Kuranji District and Lubuk Kilangan District.

PT Semen Padang also established a Disaster Task Force Command Post and alerted a medical team through Semen Padang Hospital to provide health services in Pauh District, Padang City, and Palembayan District, Agam Regency. The Disaster Task Force Post is equipped with tents, electrical equipment, cleaning equipment, heavy equipment in the form of trucks transporting clean water, medicines, and communication equipment. In Palembayan District, PT Semen Padang will also operate a public kitchen to support the fulfillment of the consumption needs of refugees and volunteers during the emergency response period.

Meanwhile in Aceh, through PT Solusi Bangun Andalas, GIS provided assistance in the form of 738 food packages consisting of rice, sardines, instant noodles and biscuits in a number of sub-districts in 6 districts/cities in Aceh, including Banda Aceh City, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Besar District, North Aceh Regency, Pidie Jaya Regency, and Bireuen Regency. Currently, the Company is also preparing assistance for victims in North Sumatra.

The President Director of GIS, Indrieffouny Indra expressed his deep concern over the disaster that occurred in Sumatra and condolences to the families of the victims who died. The assistance given by GIS is a form of the Company's concern for the disaster that befell the victims, while at the same time confirming that GIS as a BUMN is always present in the midst of society.
