Prabowo Promises To Repair Damaged Refugee Houses In Padang Pariaman
President Prabowo Subianto promised the government would help repair the houses of all damaged refugees, including refugees from flash floods and landslides in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra.
"We will help the damaged houses," said President Prabowo in front of the refugees in Bumi Kasai Permai, Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra, Monday, December 1.
President Prabowo's promise was then greeted with gratitude from the refugees: "Alhamdulillah!"
Prabowo emphasized that the government is currently also trying to repair vital damaged infrastructure such as bridges.
The government, said the president, is also trying to restore electricity and water supply to tents and evacuation posts so that the need for electricity and water for refugees is met.
"Alhamdulillah, the weather has improved. Alhamdulillah, there has also been a lot of help. Earlier, I received reports that almost 100 percent of electricity in West Sumatra," said the President in front of the refugees.
The refugees who sat face to face with the President immediately replied: "Sir, water, sir!"
The President then immediately responded that the water supply was still being repaired, but for the supply of clean water, efforts were made to reach the refugee posts.
"The water is being repaired. We are making all the bridges. God willing, we will fix everything," said President Prabowo.
In a separate moment, after checking the condition of the refugees, the President explained that for water problems, it was slowly addressed so that all supplies for the basic needs of the refugees could return to normal.
"We have also started to fix the water, yes, slowly we return it to normal. We will inventory all the damage, later we will arrange for rehabilitation so that people can return to normal life," President Prabowo told reporters before leaving for Jakarta at Minangkabau International Airport, Padang Pariaman, Monday afternoon.
The refugee post at Bumi Kasai Permai, Padang Pariaman, is the third post visited by the President today after the President visited refugees at GOR Pandan, Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra, then refugees in Bambel Baru Village, Kutacane City, Southeast Aceh Regency, Aceh Province.
At the Bumi Kasai Permai refugee post, Monday afternoon, the President checked the distribution of aid as well as the condition of the refugees. The President walked along the refugee camp and greeted the refugees one by one, including children scrambling to greet President Prabowo.
The President also went directly to the public kitchen at the evacuation post operated by Kodam XX/Mrku Imam Bonjol assisted by refugee women and a number of volunteers.
The President asked the menus prepared by the public kitchen, including the way the food was prepared until it was given to the refugees.
After reviewing the refugee post on Kasai Permai Earth, President Prabowo continued his trip to Minangkabau International Airport in Padang Pariaman and left for Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta.
On a flight to Jakarta, President Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.
