Persija Jakarta Opens Wide Doors For The Presence Of Ivar Jenner

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta opened the door wide for the presence of Ivar Jenner. This relates to the contract agreement of the Indonesian national team player with his club, FC Utrecht, which ends in June 2026.

The availability of the capital club was conveyed by the Director of Persija Jakarta, Mohamad Prapanca.

It is known that Ivar Jenner himself has decided not to extend his contract with Utrecht after this season it has not penetrated the main squad.

In addition, the reduced playing minutes in Jong FC Utrecht's second team were also taken into consideration.

"Back again, to strengthen the squad, it's not me (decision). Back again, if it's the coach (Mauricio Souza) he (Ivar) needs to strengthen the squad, yes, why not. We are always open as far as we are still on track. our financial budget," said Prapanca quoted from Antara on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Ivar was predicted to break into the main squad after last season being the starter 25 times out of a total of 26 he played for Jong FC Utrecht.

However, the situation for the Indonesian national team midfielder has been difficult this season after never breaking into the main Utrecht squad playing at the Eredivisie.

When the main Utrecht coach, Ron Jans, did not believe Ivar, his playing minutes at Jong FC Utrecht actually decreased because he only started four times from 13 matches.

"My situation at the club (FC Utrecht) for now is a little different. It's my last season at the club."

"I'm still in the second club. So, I didn't renew my contract," said Ivar after appearing in the U-23 Indonesian national team trial session ahead of the 2025 SEA Games.

On the same occasion, Prapanca said Persija was very open to adding new players in the middle of this season if it was really needed by coach Souza, including recruiting Ivar.

"Of course this dynamics is still on track, I'm sure the head coach is trying his best where the target is to become a champion."

"Of course he will try to complete which positions he might consider for addition or replacement," said Prapanca.

Meanwhile, if Persija gets Ivar later, this 21-year-old midfielder will be the sixth diaspora player to have a career in the Super League. The five players who have already been Thom Haye, Eliano Reijnders, Rafael Struick, Jordi Amat, and Jens Raven.
