Amorony Changes Scheme 3-4-2-1, Man Utd Beats Crystal Palace
JAKARTA - Manager Ruben Amorim is no longer determined by the 3-4-3 scheme. Manchester United's scheme changed to 3-4-2-1 against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League match. As a result, despite playing at the opponent's home at Selhurst Park Stadium, London, Man Utd beat his opponent 2-1.
The game was a bit hot because Man Utd fans called for the legend's name, "Eric Cantona" at Palace's home.
Why? This reminds Cantona's shot incident against Palace fan Matthew Simmons in the match on January 25, 1995. In that match Cantona received a red card for committing a foul on defender Richard Shaw who was closely guarding him.
As he walked into the dressing room, Simmons, who came down to the dressing room aisle, then provoked Cantona. In the aftermath, the former France international fired a shot at Simmons so that it was known for his shot.
The player's action with the number 7 shirt resulted in an eight-month sentence not being allowed to strengthen Man Utd and a very high fine for that time, 10 thousand pounds.
However, Cantona's action even received support from Man Utd fans. Even that kick became the legend's iconic action. No wonder Red Devils supporters shouted his name when they visited Palace's headquarters.
And, the player with number 7 Man Utd who made Palace lose at home. Yes, Mason Mount, the midfielder number 7, became the determinant of Man Utd's victory in the 63rd minute. The success of winning three points then led Man Utd to sixth position with 21 points.
Meanwhile, Palace was forced to rank. Previously, Oliver Glasner's team was above Man Utd. With this defeat, Palace dropped to ninth with point 20.
In that match, Amorim seemed to give in to the pressure he faced when changing the team's game scheme. If previously the 3-4-3 scheme had become a fixed price, now the atmosphere has made a slight change.
Still relies on three defenders, but in front of him puts Joshua Zirkzee in place of the injured Benjamin Sesko as the spearhead.
Zirkzee received support from Mount and Bryan Mbeumo who played a little behind so the scheme changed to 3-4-2-1.
Interestingly, the formation went well. However, Man Utd conceded first after host striker Jean-Philippe Mateta scored from the penalty spot.
The referee awarded a penalty after defender Lenny Yoro fouled Mateta in the box. The penalty for the French striker actually failed. But the referee declared the penalty repeated. This time, Mateta managed to outwit goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
Left behind 1-0, Man Utd tried not to be affected and increased pressure. They had to wait until the second half to equalize. Zirkzee successfully broke into Dean Henderson's goal after completing Bruno Fernandes' assist in the 54th minute.
