235 Red And White Cooperatives In Magetan Only 4 Active, Kejari Intervenes To Supervise Budget Management

The Magetan District Attorney's Office (Kejari) affirms its commitment to overseeing the budget management of the Red and White Village and Village Cooperative (KDKMP) in the local area. This effort is made to ensure that the program runs according to the rules and is free from potential abuse.

Head of the Magetan Kejari, Dezi Everyermana, said the KDKMP budget was sourced from the financing of state-owned bank loans supported by the State Budget, Village Funds, and cooperation with SOEs.

The program is a combination of financing from the central government, Himbara, and PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara (Persero).

"Law enforcement officers, including the Kejari, have a crucial role in supervising red and white cooperatives. We ensure that this program runs according to regulations, is corruption-free, and there are no irregularities," said Dezi in Magetan, as reported by Antara, Sunday, November 30.

He said the cooperative must have good governance to avoid the risk of bankruptcy and misappropriation of funds. If irregularities occur for personal or group interests, criminal threats can be imposed in accordance with the Corruption Eradication Law and the National Criminal Code which will take effect on January 2, 2026.

To prevent this, the Kejari encouraged the KDKMP management to obtain training and technical guidance related to good cooperative governance and transparent business practices.

According to Dezi, KDKMP has great potential in providing basic needs for the community, ranging from basic necessities to medicines. With good management, this village cooperative can even compete with modern retailers.

Sementara itu, data Dinas Koperasi dan UKM Kabupaten Magetan menunjukkan terdapat 235 unit koperasi desa dan kelurahan merah putih yang telah berbadan hukum. Namun, dari jumlah tersebut, baru empat unit yang aktif menjalankan kegiatan usaha.

Sebagian besar koperasi belum beroperasi karena keterbatasan modal awal serta belum memiliki tempat usaha yang memadai.

Meanwhile, data from the Department of Cooperatives and SMEs of Magetan Regency shows that there are 235 units of village and sub-district red and white cooperatives that have become legal entities. However, of these, only four units are actively carrying out business activities.

Most cooperatives are not yet operating due to initial capital limitations and do not yet have adequate business premises.
